My 2000 summer vacation began with
a visit to The Last Resort, located on 100 wooded acres and wetlands
next to a private lake in Northwest Wisconsin. My grandparents,
Ken & Lorraine Sansome, bought the resort for a family gathering
place in 1961. My mom, Karen, and my Aunt Donna now own and operate
The Last Resort for friends and family. For me, fishing is the
primary attraction. Bass and sunfish are the main pursuits, and
northern pike & crappie complete the foursome of sport fish
at The Last Resort. Outstanding nature watching, biking, and family
visiting filled out the two weeks I spent there this year.
